Matt Sikora is the director of evaluation at the Detroit Institute of Arts. He has worked in the museum field for more than fifteen years, serving as a publications editor, educator, and evaluator. Since 2004, he has been responsible for managing all visitor studies projects at the DIA, including a comprehensive set of front-end and formative evaluation studies for the museum’s six-year reinstallation project.
Professional interests include special considerations of serving as an internal evaluator, approaches for building institutional commitment to evaluation, and issues related to evaluation use. He holds a B.A. in English from Kalamazoo College and an M.Ed. in Instructional Design from Wayne State University. He is a member of the American Evaluation Association and the American Association of Museums Committee for Audience Research and Evaluation; he currently serves as the Vice President of Outreach on the Board of Directors of the Visitor Studies Association.
